4 years old and cancer free.
One of the most moving things about the greater CrossFit community is that when times get tough, we ban together and do what we can to support each other. And likewise when there is a time to celebrate, we do that together too. At just three years old, Haley became a Connecticut CrossFit celebrity when news spread about her courageous fight against cancer. And when the news later came that she was cancer free, we all felt the need to celebrate her triumph and her bravery.
Yesterday we had the opportunity to come together with Haley and her parents to celebrate this special hero’s triumph on her fourth birthday. Haley wanted to spend her birthday in the best way she could think of – cheering us all on in doing a workout filled with her favorite CrossFit movements, a hero WOD created and named after her. You’ll see from the pictures below that we gave our all in this workout, and we did it all while wearing birthday hats in celebration. By the end of the night just about every one of us fell in love with this beautiful girl.
What a privilege to have the opportunity to step outside of our regular routine to have a super fun and special night celebrating Haley’s life, her fourth birthday, and her bright and healthy future ahead. May we all be #haleystrong in life and in health!
