Biography

Do I Know You?

Alicia has always had a knack for helping others. S o when she started working as a massage therapist with Central CT Massage and Wellness in April 2016 she found her niche working with athletes. Alicia and her team travel to CrossFit locations around the state to provide pre and post sports massage to athletes performing in events and competitions. Alicia believes massage can help the body with muscle recovery and be very beneficial for injury prevention. Alicia is thrilled to offer 60 and 90 minute sports and restorative massages by appointment at CFB for members and non-members.

Alicia’s Story

Alicia started her journey at the Winthrop University in South Carolina earning her bachelors degree in Exercise Science. In 2014, Alicia became an AFAA Certified Personal Trainer and began helping individuals achieve their overall fitness goals. Her passion for health and wellness of the human body led her to massage therapy school in 2014 and becoming licensed in both CT and NY in 2016. Alicia was introduced to CrossFit when she started her massage career with Central CT Massage and Wellness. Beginning with massaging at CrossFit events around the state, she found herself becoming immersed in the CrossFit “world” and trying to understand the CrossFit ” language.” To understand this language, Alicia decided that she must experience the world of CrossFit herself to help get a better feel of why these athletes need bodywork. Alicia joined the CFB family and hasn’t looked back…

Fun Fact

I love candy including any type of gummy candy, so it didn’t help that my father once owned a candy store would send me pounds and pounds of candy to help me get through finals in college.
