Do I know you?
Eric has coached Olympic Weightlifting since 2011. You may have seen him at various Olympic Lifting Competitions around New England either coaching one of his athletes or competing himself. Also, he is always at the grocery store so you can look for him there too.
Eric has always been interested in athletics. He swam for University of Vermont and played Water Polo as well. After graduating he worked as a swim coach in New York for a team that had 8 olympic trialists and a bronze medalist in 2012. However, during this time he was introduced to CrossFit in 2006. Eric loved the economic nature of the workouts. Minimum Time = Maximum Results. In 2009 Eric went to CrossFit Regionals in Albany as a member of The Power Barn and placed Top 25 after Day 1 before leaving to support his fiancee’s first marathon with Team in Training (some things are a little more important). In 2010, Eric worked up the courage to slip on a singlet and give weightlifting a try. He hasn’t looked back since. Eric has competed all across the northeast earning himself respect as one of the strongest 105 kilo lifters in New England. He is the current CT State Record Holder in the 105 kg class for the snatch, clean & jerk and total weight lifted. But, he’s a coach who always wants to learn more and has even spent his time reading translated Russian texts on weightlifting. Eric clearly loves the sport of weightlifting and equally loves sharing the sport through coaching others. He offers personalized programming and one-on-one coaching for CrossFit Bethany members interested in competing in addition to his specialized Sunday Olympic Lifting class for all CFB athletes.
